Cell division... Cell division is when one cell splits into two or more cells. This helps living things grow, fix broken parts, and make new life. There are two kinds of cell division: mitosis and meiosis. Mitosis is like a cell factory. First, the cell's DNA copies itself so each new cell has all the instructions. Then, the cell's center splits into two, and the rest of the cell splits too. It's like one factory becoming two, each with all it needs to work. Meiosis is special. It only happens in cells for making babies. Its job is to make cells with half the usual instructions.
Anti-oral cancer properties of potential probiotic lactobacilli isolated from traditional milk, cheese, and yogurt.
A Nature study explored the potential of Lactobacillus strains, isolated from traditional dairy products like cheese, milk, and yogurt in Iran, as probiotics with anti-cancer properties against oral cancer. Researchers tested 21 Lactobacillus strains on oral cancer cell lines and identified four (Y33, M45, C5, C28) with promising probiotic characteristics, including good viability, antibiotic resistance, and strong adhesion to human intestinal cells.
