Ruto drives himself to KICC to flag off Safari Rally

Away from his Kaunda and top designer suits, Ruto was dressed in full Safari Rally drivers' gear.

It is on rare occasions that people get to see the President driving himself to functions.

President William Ruto on Thursday, drove himself to the Kenyatta International Conventional Centre to flag off the WRC Safari Rally Kenya.

Away from his usual Kaunda suits and top designer suits,  the President was dressed in full Safari Rally drivers' gear.

As the President was driving, one of his security escorts was seated in the passenger seat.

He arrived at the KICC where Sports CS Ababu Namwamba received him.

This is, however, not the first time the Head of State has driven himself.

On September 4, 2023, Kenya hosted the Africa Climate Summit in Nairobi.

In a surprise move, President Ruto drove himself from State House in an Autopax Air EV Yetu vehicle to KICC where the event was taking place.

He drove through State House Road to Kenyatta Avenue to Uhuru Highway and later to City Hallway for the function.

It is not common practice for a president to be on the steering wheel, hence a rare spectacle for Kenyans.
