After the Eurobond loan, scheduled for repayment in June this year, was repurchased, the Kenyan shilling began to appreciate against the US dollar. 

According to the weekly disclosures by the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), the Kenya shilling further appreciated against the US dollar in the week ending March 28 compared to the week that ended on March 21.

On Friday, March 29, the Kenya shilling recorded its highest value against the Uganda shilling in over 12 months, trading at UGX 29.453, while the lowest value was recorded at UGX 23.331 per Kenyan shilling on January 25, 2024.
