Dennis Itumbi persists in advocating for the return of Worldcoin in Kenya, emphasising the importance of digital currencies.

Itumbi highlighted the significant increase in Worldcoin's value and predicted further growth, suggesting that its value could surpass KSh 1,000 within the next one to two years.

Worldcoin was suspended in Kenya following concerns raised by a parliamentary committee regarding the lack of regulations governing digital assets 

Dennis Itumbi has announced he will intensify efforts to advocate for the return of the Worldcoin in Kenya despite the government's current ban on the iris biometric cryptocurrency. 

He expressed his belief that Worldcoin should be reinstated in Kenya, vowing to push for its return through various channels. 

"I am going to put up a fight at all the relevant tables to ensure Worldcoin comes back to Kenya," said Itumbi.

Why Dennis Itumbi wants Worldcoin back in Kenya Itumbi pointed out the significant increase in Worldcoin's value since the ban, noting that it has climbed from KSh 7 to KSh 48.

He projected further growth, suggesting that the value could surpass KSh 1,000 within the next one or two years. 

"Before it was banned, it was only KSh 7. Today, it is KSh 48. In a year, I foresee it going to around KSh 1000 to KSh 2,000," he remarked. 

Why Worldcoin was suspended in Kenya In October 2023, a parliamentary committee said the National Treasury should draft regulations to govern digital assets before platforms like Worldcoin operate in the country.

The committee noted that the lack of regulations saw Worldcoin exploit Kenyans through existing legal gaps as the cryptocurrency platform saw over 350,000 Kenyans registered, sharing their data for KSh 7,000.

Consequently, the government suspended Worldcoin operations in Kenya, and Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kithure Kindiki said that the entity's activities will remain terminated until relevant authorities prove its authenticity and data privacy.
