Let's talk lips. While I used to think my lips were pretty basic, lately, they've been going through a bit of a mid-life crisis. I tried lip filler a few months ago, then decided to get it all dissolved. Now, I'm back to looking for natural ways to make my lips look fuller and more voluminous. The easiest and quickest route? A fun lip combo. I've been shuffling through lots of products lately, searching for the best options, and I've come across quite a few that have worked wonders. The Wonderskin Peel Off Lip Stain is an editor favorite, and I constantly see hacks using the brand's products going viral on TikTok.
Recently, I used one of their lip tints to try the "double glossing" method, and when I saw a viral video of the "Angelina Jolie" lip combo using one of my favorite Wonderskin shades, I couldn't wait to try it. The hack gets its name because it happens to make your lips look just like Angelina Jolie's when you're done. Influencer Jade Lily calls it the "go-to your-lips-but-better combo" for self-explanatory reasons.
To test the combo, you need three products: the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Pencil in Pillow Talk Medium ($25), the Wonderskin Lip Stain in Charming ($22), and the Dior Lip Oil in Rosewood ($40). In the video, Jade starts by using the lip tint on just her top lip. "This is where I stop. . . . I feel like it gives that perfect, pouty Angelina Jolie lip," she says.
After she wipes off the lip stain, she lines her lips with the Charlotte Tilbury pencil, which she says is the perfect berry color. She mentions that she fills in the corners using the lip liner and then tops everything off with the Dior Lip Oil. She calls the final result "so good" and "so natural," and I'd have to agree — it looked stunning on her, but the real question was if it'd look just as good on me.
After seeing the video for the first time, I couldn't wait to try it out. Luckily, I could get to work immediately because I already owned all of the products Jade used — it was just a matter of hopping into the bathroom and getting started. Before applying the Wonderskin stain, I opted to exfoliate my lips to make sure I didn't have any dead skin on them. I used an exfoliating scrub, which I wiped off using a wet paper towel. I've used the Wonderskin product plenty of times and I've found that the color can occasionally be a tiny bit intense for me; what I've found that I like to do is first layer Aquaphor over my lips, then go in with the stain. I added it just to my top lip as the video instructed, left it on until it was completely dry (which took about a minute), and then wiped it off.
Although I was initially skeptical about just applying the product to my top lip, I loved the way it looked. My bottom lip is bigger than my top, so this trick made both look voluminous. Next, I went in with the Charlotte Tilbury pencil to outline my lips. I don't typically fill in the corners, so that part was new for me, but I found that it actually gave my lips a lot of dimension. The last and final step was going over everything with the Dior Lip Oil, which is a product I had forgotten about but I'm so glad I rediscovered.
The end result left my lips glowing, plump, and 100 percent looking like my lips but better. I had forgotten how long-lasting the Dior Lip Oil was. Paired with the Wonderskin tint, the combo lasted me for hours — even through eating and drinking at a party at my friend's house. While I was there, one of my friends commented that my lip products hadn't moved all day and wanted to know exactly what I was wearing. Trust me when I say this is one lip product combination you don't want to skip out on.
