Jobseeker dismissed by CS Murkomen finally lands job

A man who recently went viral on social media after he asked Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen for a job, and was dismissed for it with a snide that no job was on offer there, has finally landed one.
Elphas Busisa, who hails from Vihiga County, confirmed landing a job as a driver for a c

“I have worked on and off since 1996, but when Covid hit in 2020, I lost my job and I have been struggling to put food on the table for my family ever since,” he said.

According to Busisa, he had gone to the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) offices to run some errands when he saw the CS and took his chance which has paid off.

Busisa went viral on social media after a video of him asking CS Murkomen for a job elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans.

It was during the interaction with Kenyans seeking services at the NTSA office that Busisa got an opportunity to greet Mr Murkomen and ask him for a job.

He has now revealed that the CS dispatched some of his people to him on the same day who worked on his job request.

“I had known the CS but not personally for many years and when he was leaving he come and greeted us and he asked me what was my problem and I told him I was jobless, but he responded by saying that we are not employing here. But to my surprise, his people later came and approached me,” he said.

The newly employed driver expressed gratitude for the appointment saying he will now be able to put food on the table and support his family.

He has been employed as a driver for a contractor at the Kenya National Highways Authority Project office in Nakuru
