The information caught the attention of Kenyans on X (formerly Twitter) because of the precast building materials used. Cost of the 3-bedroom bungalow Kibaru revealed that the total cost of the precast bungalow shell, including labour, amounted to KSh 1.5 million. 

Additionally, he estimated that interior finishes would require an additional investment of KSh 1 million, bringing the total cost of the finished unit to KSh 2.5 million. Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Amos Kibaru said that the precast walling system is a proven building method that reduces not only the time it takes to build a house but also the cost. "Using precast material, it takes about 10 days to erect the house. Then to complete everything, including finishing, which we are now doing on the house, takes up to around 21 days. It is very fast," Kibaru told TUKO.co.ke in an exclusive interview.
