Other business leaders in attendance were JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon, Apple CEO Tim Cook, and BlackRock chief Larry Fink, as well as figures from politics and entertainment such as former President Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and actor Robert DeNiro.
Japanese business figures like SoftBank founder Masayoshi Son and former Mitsubishi chairman Ken Kobayashi were also on the invite list.
Bezos was invited alongside his fiance Lauren Sanchez. The couple went public with their relationship in 2019, following Bezos' split from ex-wife MacKenzie Scott.
According to The Washington Post, the event was "full of formality and lacking subtlety."
Jill Biden had the State Floor of the White House transformed into what she dubbed a "vibrant spring garden" for the event. Guests were treated to a three-course meal inspired by American and Japanese cuisine.
Business and tech leaders are no strangers to these state events.
Last year, the White House hosted a dinner for the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, which Tim Cook also attended alongside OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
