The experience was even more beautiful because sailor Omar Lali guided the businesswoman. Winnie disclosed that anticipation filled the air as she boarded the traditional Mozambican dhow, leaving the bustling Shela Village behind. "Lali is a great captain and sailor, accentuated by the fact that he embodies years of wisdom," she praised. 

Armed with a bottle of Baccolo Apassimento Rosso Veneto, a rich red wine, Winnie eagerly anticipated the magic that awaited them. With every sip of the velvety wine, Winnie felt transported to a world where time stood still. She says Lali's stories breathed life into the ancient structures across the island, revealing the coastal gem's rich history and diverse cultures. Winnie discloses that Lali recounted tales of seafaring traders, intrepid explorers, and great adventurers, every word igniting his passion for Lamu.

After breathtaking hours of sailing through stunning natural beauty, darkness started setting in, forcing them to head back ashore. Although the journey had ended, its memories would forever be etched in Winnie's heart, and she had learned a new thing: "Lamu is more than just a destination.
